West Side de Berkeley Car Club was established in 1978 by Anthony Vasquez Sr. along with his good friends from Berkeley, California.
After a long break, West Side De Berkeley officially became a non-profit organization as of 2013. Friends and Families from the Berkeley Community and other surrounding areas began holding charitable events and fundraisers as well as supporting other car clubs with their events.
Anthony and his wife Michelle became aware of the Oakland Kaiser Pediatric Intensive Care Unit via their niece who has been a Nurse in the ICU for over 15 years. After learning more about the children, it motivated them to do something. Their first event was an event to raise money for toys, gift cards, etc. for the children that are in the special unit for delivery during the Holidays. From there, they have been holding special fundraising events and now have the opportunity to support the Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA), community-based educational programs, learning resources, and youth development services based in Berkeley, Ca.
The goal is to create a positive environment and welcome all who share the same best interests enjoying classic cars, music, great food in a FAMILY atmosphere while supporting great causes.
